Shannon loves the creativity involved in working with her clients, and the energy and humor they bring to her day. She appreciates their resiliency and dedication to improving difficult situations. She works with children and adolescents who have been abused and their families, helping to create a safe and healthy relationship in which healing can occur. She often connects with her clients through art making and play.
Shannon began her education in Fine Art and Psychology, and combined the two for her graduate work. She received her Master of Science degree in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Springfield College in Massachusetts in 2005. She has worked with the elderly in a day health program and with adolescents in a residential treatment facility, both in New England. While attending graduate school she served as an AmeriCorps Fellow and dedicated herself to community service. She joined CAPA in 2005, and appreciates the support she receives from CAPA's clinical team.
