Family Support Services
Therapeutic, psycho-educational and home-based services designed to help children and families build upon their strengths to prevent abuse and improve family life.
- Parents and Children Together - PACT
- A program designed to strengthen family relationships and parenting skills. Services include parent support groups, educational programs, and activities for children and parents that promote positive communication and problem solving within the family. Services also include case management, crisis assistance and special events for families that encourage positive interaction through play and group activities.
- Healthy Family Connections
- A three-tier program designed to prevent child abuse by promoting positive interactions, build on parents' strengths and helps link high-needs families with the resources they need to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Tiers include:
- Welcome Home Baby - a short-term intervention with the new mother consisting of one to two visits in the hospital with one visit in the home.
- Healthy Families Needs Assessment - a short-term (30-90 days) in-home assessment and intervention with those considered high-needs.
- Healthy Family Connections - a long-term, in-home visitation program helping families and children develop on track, and create a safe and nurturing home.
- Helpline
- A resource available to the general public that helps link people in need of help with community-based organizations.
