Family Support Services
Therapeutic, psycho-educational and home-based services designed to help children and families build upon their strengths to prevent abuse and improve family life.
- Parents and Children Together - PACT
- A program designed to strengthen family relationships and parenting skills. Services include parent support groups, educational programs, and activities for children and parents that promote positive communication and problem solving within the family. Services also include case management, crisis assistance and special events for families that encourage positive interaction through play and group activities. PACT helps adults and children of all ages. Two child groups are available, 5-11 and a teen group, 12-16. PACT is open to families residing in Jackson County, and helps ensure strong & safe environments where families can thrive. Child care provided for 0-4 years old.
- Healthy Family Connections
- A three-tier program designed to prevent child abuse by promoting positive interactions, build on parents' strengths and helps link high-needs families with the resources they need to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Tiers include:
- Welcome Home Baby - a short-term intervention with the new mother consisting of one to two visits in the hospital with one visit in the home.
- Healthy Families Needs Assessment - a short-term (30-90 days) in-home assessment and intervention with those considered high-needs.
- Healthy Family Connections - a long-term, in-home visitation program helping families with children to ensure a safe and nurturing home. Available to families who live in Jackson County, MO. Must be expecting a baby or have a baby 3 months or younger to be eligible. For ages prenatal to three years old.
