CAPAcity

We have a challenging task, but we're ready to dig in!

There is a new name in town: CAPAcity. A community; or rather, citizens of several area cities; committed to preventing the abuse and neglect of our children. It’s an unfortunate fact that this destruction of innocence continues to happen in our neighborhoods, and it is time for us to stand up against this abuse. Did you know that it can take hours of therapy to help a frightened child get to the point where they can sleep through the night? It can take weeks, or even months, of education and behavioral changes to break the cycle of abuse in families. And, it takes buildings, people and resources in order to treat, help and support these children and families.

CAPAcity is that opportunity to stand up as citizens of this community and become “architects for change.” You may not be able or qualified to do the counseling, educating or intervening necessary for this cause; but, you can make certain that those who do this kind of work can continue by providing the much-needed financial support.

In an endeavor to create awareness and raise prevention dollars, we have organized a campaign that can be both fun and beneficial. It begins with CAPA board members, volunteers, community leaders and people like you hosting dinners or small gatherings in our homes. Equipped with the CAPAcity tool kit, each host will be prepared to layout this blueprint for change, and we can begin to take strides toward building our community into a safer place for children. In order to make this happen, we need supportive citizens and volunteers willing to donate both time and money to help child abuse. Be a part of this movement, and join CAPAcity in building a community for a cause.
Join us as we become Architects for Change in 2012.
